Your strategic partner for maritime expertises & logistics in the heart of the South Pacific

Our services include tasks such as supervision of loading or unloading bulk carriers, cargo quantity certification, quality control, damage surveys on goods, heavy-lift cargo monitoring, etc.

From a more technical perspective, our services are composed as follows:

DRAFT SURVEY:

The Draft Survey is a method used to determine the weight of any product being loaded or discharged from a vessel. The experienced staff of SLD SURVEYORS can perform a Draft Survey on your behalf and issue an independent report.

The Draft Survey measures the vessel’s draft readings before and after loading or unloading, and the difference between the two represents the weight of the cargo. Our experts work in accordance with international standards for cargo weight control and take into account various factors during their inspections, such as:

The density of the sea water, river water, or other waterways

Changes in the quantity of ballast between the initial and final readings

Changes in the quantity of consumable stores on board between the initial and final readings (e.g., fresh water, fuel, etc.)

Trim correction and deformation correction, using the data provided in the vessel’s Hydrostatic Tables

The accuracy of the weight determined by the Draft Survey also depends on maritime conditions (tide level and swell) at the time of loading or unloading.

Our experts enter the raw readings into a proprietary SLD SURVEYORS application. This program calculates the loaded or discharged weight using an internationally standardized Draft Survey protocol. We compile the results into a report including all relevant details.

CARGO SURVEY:

The Cargo Survey aims to assess the condition of the cargo before, during, and after loading on board or unloading from the vessel. In all cases, our experts inspect and notify you of any remarks that should be recorded on the cargo-related documents.

CONDITION SURVEY:

The Condition Survey is intended to assess the condition of the cargo either before or after its loading on board or discharge from the vessel. In all cases, our experts examine and advise you of any remarks to be noted on the relevant cargo documents.

BUNKER SURVEY:

The Bunker Survey is a key element in establishing and documenting the condition of a vessel. This independent inspection is carried out during a change of ownership or when arranging a charter party agreement. It protects your interests and your investment. The Bunker Survey determines the quantities of different fuels and lubricants on board the vessel.

OPERATION SURVEY:

SLD SURVEYORS can represent you and your interests for any cargo loading or unloading operations in all ports and terminals of New Caledonia. Operational experience and sound knowledge of local procedures enable the Shipper/Loading Master to act as the key link between the vessel, all port or terminal operators, and all stakeholders during the operation.
